Posey County, Indiana – Grants totaling $14,790 were awarded to 9 local nonprofit organizations from the Women’s Fund of Posey County, a permanent resource of the Posey County Community Foundation, established in 2004 by a visionary group of Posey County women.
Annual grants go to support a variety of resources and programs serving the Posey County community, seeking to fund solutions to help prevent domestic violence, secure family-supporting jobs, promote health and education and, perhaps most importantly, develop confidence. This year’s recipient organizations are:
$2,500 to Holly’s House, Inc. for the “Think First & Stay Safe” Child Abuse Prevention Program in Posey County
$700 to Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Ohio Valley for the Posey County Mentoring Project
$2,400 to Junior Achievement of Southwestern Indiana for implementation of the JA Be Entrepreneurial® Program at North Posey High School
$3,000 to Youth First for the Strengthening Posey County Families Program
$1,485.90 to St. Paul’s United Methodist Church for the M.A.G.I.C. After-school Program
$1,500 to Posey County Head Start for the Move with Me Mommy Program
$825 to Family Matters of Posey County, Indiana, Inc. for the Money Smart Week events
$379.44 to North Elementary School for the Personal Listening Centers Project
$2,000 to Zion Lippe United Church of Christ for the 4C Play and Learn Program at Zion Lippe UCC
