Annual scholarship created by Gregory A. and Natalie J. Smith in memory of their son, Sheldon (1993-2006).
Graduating seniors of Washington High School and Washington Catholic High School planning to pursue a two- or four-year college or vocational school degree in writing (literature, not journalism), computer graphics, computer game design, computer art design, or computer animation, computer programming, and/or web design at an accredited institution.
Selection will be based on applicant’s cumulative grade point average (minimum 3.0 gpa on a 4.0 scale), financial need, and the required essay. Applicants receiving a 4-year, full tuition scholarship, including the 21st Century Scholarship, will not be considered.
- Typewritten essay (approximately 200 words) answering the question, ”What degree are you pursuing and how will that degree help you achieve your life goals?”
- Completion of the ”FAFSA” or ”FAFSA4caster.”
- Official grade transcript.
$350 to be awarded to one Washington High School senior and one Washington Catholic High School senior.
