Perry County Community Foundation Awards Grants Totaling $38,000

The Perry County Community Foundation recently presented grant awards totaling over $38,000 to seven organizations serving Perry County. The grant recipients are as follows: Lincoln Hills Development Corporation, Community Christian Fellowship of Indiana – Widow’s Barrel Food Pantry, Cannelton City Schools, Renew Cannelton Inc., Perry County Port Authority, Tell City Regional Arts Association, and Cannelton Food Pantry. These grants were made possible by people and organizations establishing and contributing to funds held by the Foundation.

Lincoln Hills Development Corporation was awarded $1,000 to provide emergency preparedness kits for elderly and preschool children to help prepare them for disasters and emergencies. The Community Foundation fund used to support the grant was: Friends of Perry County Fund.

Community Christian Fellowship of Indiana – Widow’s Barrel Food Pantry was awarded $3,300 to cover the cost of materials and labor to construct an awning to provide shelter for the free outdoor produce market. The Community Foundation fund used to support this grant was: Friends of Perry County Fund.

Cannelton City Schools was awarded $9,000 to create a new playground at the park for community members to enjoy while in Cannelton.  The Friends of Perry County Fund supported this grant.

Renew Cannelton, Inc. was awarded $3,000 for the purchase of commercial-grade Christmas decorations to place along Highway 66 in Cannelton’s historic district.  The Community Foundation fund used to support the grant was: Friends of Perry County Fund.

Perry County Port Authority was awarded $13,863.99 for the purchase and installation of new windows for the Swiss Plywood Building.  The Friends of Perry County Fund supported this grant.

Tell City Regional Arts Association was awarded $5,758 to support the 2021 Summer Event Series that includes Movies in the Park, Music in the Park, and Classic Movie Cinema as well as to cover the cost of equipment and supplies. The Community Foundation funds used to support this grant were: Cardinal-Smith-Etienne Fund; For Good, Forever Advisory Board Fund; Perry County Arts Council Promoting the Arts Fund; and Friends of Perry County Fund.

Cannelton Food Pantry was awarded $3,950 to cover the cost of materials and labor to construct a patio roof to provide shelter for the free outdoor produce market.  The Community Foundation fund used to support the grant was: Friends of Perry County Fund.
